About

This Town is Folly is an independently run new music blog formed in 2010 and based in London (UK).   Started as a way of keeping friends up-to-date with new and underground music releases, This Town is Folly is now followed by an international audience of music lovers and tastemakers.

This Town is Folly is founded and edited by Claire Holly Davies, an Event Marketing and Production Manager who has worked on various music events including The MOBO Awards and Wilderness Festival and has programmed acts such as Maverick Sabre, Devlin, Amplify Dot, Sway, Mahalia, Willy Mason, Pulled Apart by Horses and Dinosaur Pile-up.  Claire has written for Aesthetica Magazine, MOBO.com and This is Offset, as well as editing This Town is Folly.

This Town is Folly has championed many lesser known artists before they became big names across the music blogosphere, including the likes of Alt-j, Deptford Goth, Joey Bada$$, Breton, Grimes, Seye, Savages, The Adamski Kid, Let’s Buy Happiness, ILLLS, Evian Christ, Mahalia, Bleeding Knees Club, Suuns, The Other Tribe and Is Tropical.

“This Town is Folly is the quintessential indie fan’s blog. Unassuming and broadly defined, this blog simply is devoted to good music that makes you feel all types of things. For those of you who like to feel all types of things, you could very easily check out the blog’s many links to MP3s and band pages.”
